We have seen this movie before. The enterprise blockchain graveyard is filled with projects that had the exact same pitch. R3 Corda was founded in 2015 by a consortium of over 200 banks and has, after nearly a decade, produced marginal commercial traction. The fundamental failure mode of these consortia is structural, not technical. They fail because they attempt to solve a coordination problem among competitors without creating a compelling new revenue stream or significant cost reduction.
